Welcome to the Birnbeck Actors Website

The Birnbeck Actors Company was formed in 2010 as a group of professional and semi-professional actors who came together with a common goal to bring high quality theatre entertainment to Somerset and the surrounding areas of Bath and Bristol.

Based in Weston-super-Mare the members of the company have backgrounds in theatre, music and television, both treading the boards and backstage so are well versed in all that is needed to provide a good night's entertainment. The only thing they lack, and this is where you come in dear reader, is an audience. We hope you will be tempted by the details of the next production as well as the home-made cakes which will be laid on in the interval and want to come along and be part of the magic.

Rather than having a fixed theatre, the Birnbeck Actors Company want to tour the area putting shows on in new and different venues. If you'd like them to visit your hall or theatre then please contact us.

Our Next Production

Cooking with Elvis is a black farce first performed in Edinburgh in 1999 and then at the following year's Edinburgh Festival before transferring to the Whitehall Theatre in London's West End and starring Frank Skinner, Sharon Percy, Charlie Hardwick and Joe Caffrey.

The show is by turns comic, intensely dark, camp and unsettling. It deals with the destruction of family life by the hand of fate.

To make a Recipe for Disaster you take Dad, an amateur Elvis impersonator, who was crippled in a car crash, add a manic Mam who can't cope with the situation anymore, throw in their emotionally charged daughter Jill and mix well with sexy but stupid Stuart - Mam's new beau!

Mum copes with life through a white wine veil and Jill thinks chocolate puddings are happiness condensed. Stuart knows sex relieves tension and love causes it while Dad just loves The King.

Take the three most satisfying things in the world - Food, Sex and Elvis - and you have Cooking with Elvis.

Cooking with Elvis is on Friday 27th May 2011 at 8pm. Tickets are £10 available from the Rondo Theatre, Bath - 01225 463362
